John Culp

John Culp is Chief Executive Officer for EOD Consulting. He was an Explosive Ordnance Disposal 
(EOD) technician, Special Forces Engineer, and later a Special Forces officer in the U.S. Army. 
He served as an arms inspector with the United Nations Special Commission on Iraq (UNSCOM), 
participating in multiple on-the-ground arms inspections. After leaving the Army, he joined the 
CIA’s weapons and explosives program, where he deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq five times, as well as working closely with other foreign EOD programs. In 2016-2017 he led efforts 
to develop an Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) program for the CIA’s advanced conventional 
weapons branch and became a qualified UAS operator. In 2022 and 2023, he spearheaded 
efforts inside Ukraine of a non-governmental organization focused on building Ukrainian 
capacity for dealing with mines and unexploded ordnance. He continued his volunteer work in 
Ukraine partnering with the National Police of Ukraine EOD, both conducting clearance 
operations and serving as an instructor in the National Police Academy in Kyiv and at the 
National Police EOD school in Zhytomyr.

Dan T. Henderson III

Dan Henderson is a Founding Partner for EOD Consulting. He is an accomplished and highly 
experienced Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician, he weaponized Unmanned Systems (UAS), and 
Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Subject Matter Expert (SME); drawing on more than 20 years 
of operational experience. Dan has been the lead for hundreds of missions in support of the US 
Department of Defense/War (DOD/DOW), US Secret Service, US Department of State, and 
numerous nation-states spread across Europe, Africa, and Asia. In addition to diverse 
operational experiences he has developed, validated, and provided formal training to more 
than 400 Partner Nation Forces and performed critical explosives vulnerability assessments in 
support of the US DOD/DOW, US Embassies, and Consulates. Lastly, Dan served on 5 separate 
deployments with the US Army to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Africa; where he spearheaded CIED, 
counter arms proliferation, and counter emerging threat efforts in North and West Africa.

Alex drueke

Alex Drueke is EOD Consulting’s Director of CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and 
Nuclear) Operations. He is a 12-year Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves as a CBRN Operations 
NCO and Platoon Sergeant with two tours of duty in Iraq (2004-2006, 2008-2009). Alex also 
served with Ukraine’s International Legion and GUR (Military Intelligence) in 2022, during which 
he was captured and endured nearly four months in Russian captivity. Since his release, Alex has 
dedicated himself to advocacy and humanitarian work for Ukraine: raising funds, lobbying 
Congress, training the Ukrainian National Guard, and supporting Ukrainian defense 
manufacturers. Alex combines his wealth of military knowledge with over a decade of 
experience in HAZMAT/Hazardous Waste Disposal in the civilian sector, as well as prior 
certifications in Firefighting, Incident Operations, and Law Enforcement. He continues to serve in Ukraine in non-combat capacities, has completed multiple drone FPV and engineering courses led by current Ukrainian war-fighters, and maintains a network of Ukrainian and foreign soldiers, engineers, technology developers, and others. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s in Leadership. Alex is currently based out of Kyiv, Ukraine.

Michael smith

Michael Smith is EOD Consulting’s Director of Training. He is a retired United States Army 
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Master Technician with 20 years of experience in the career 
field. Mr. Smith has trained countless local nationals, law enforcement, NATO service members, 
and United States service members while deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. As a certified 
Senior Army Instructor, he conducted training for the United States Army EOD Phase 1 school at 
Fort Lee, Virginia. He later worked for the US Army’s Training and Doctrine Command as 
Capability Manager for Explosive Ordnance Disposal, helping to create and develop institutional 
training programs for the US Army EOD program. Mike’s primary program responsibilities were 
the Army’s EOD Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, EOD Phase 1, the Tactical 
and Technical Exploitation Course, and the Advanced Team Leader Operations Course. Lastly, 
he is a certified FAA part-107 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operator and a dedicated 3D-printing specialist; further developing his expertise in computer‑aided design tools.

Donna culp

Donna Culp is EOD Consulting’s Chief of Support Operations. After a career as a professional 
occupational therapist, including service in the US Air Force, Donna joined the Central 
Intelligence Agency where she served as a Logistics Officer in various overseas locations, to 
include a year-long deployment to the Iraq war zone. After retirement from the CIA, she served 
as a medical and logistics coordinator for a non-governmental organization focused on building 
Ukrainian capacity for dealing with mines and unexploded ordnance in 2022 and 2023. Donna 
continues her engagement with Ukraine through supporting efforts to establish a rehabilitation 
center for Ukrainian war veterans and their families in Kryvyi Rih.

Nicholas (Nick) J. Shepherd

Nick earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. He has over 20 years of professional experience in threat assessment and mitigation for the United States (US) Government. A Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician, he has expertise in security and direct-action response from his several combat tours while in the US Army. He is experienced in unexploded ordnance (UXO) and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN), counter improvised explosive device (CIED) and IED defeat operations. Nick has performed several Very 
Important Person Protective Support Activity (VIPPSA) missions domestically and internationally in support of the United States Secret Service (USSS). Nick has years of experience working with 
International Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technicians, building relationships while continuing to learn and hone his craft with the latest Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP’s) from around the globe.
